Foxglove - Sarah Patterson's Garden
Saratoga Springs, NY
Fruit/vegetables, Garden structure/sculpture, Rare plants/plant collection, Substantial native plants
My home is within the city limits of Saratoga Springs, but my hope is that when you are in the garden all thoughts of a city are gone. You won't find a lawn here, only flowers, trees, and shrubs. I started the garden in 2008 and in 2021 made the biggest structural change. A large sunken area is now filled in. Varieties of trees and shrubs are Stewartia, Cornus florida, Magnolia, Styrax obassia, Amelanchier, Ilex evergreen and verticillata, Viburnum, Hamamelis, and some special evergreens. Digitalis, Geranium, Alchemilla mollis, Pulmonaria, Echinacea, Rudbeckia, peony, ferns, and irises are some of the perennials.
This garden's estimated size is ¼ acre.
