Bonniwell Garden

The Bonniwell house, featuring wood, glass, and stone with a metal roof, was built in 2004 and overlooks a large, landscaped pond that we stock with fish. The gardens at the immediate rear of the home and the swimming pool are rectangular and are bordered by hedges, stone, flagstones, or wood. The manicured landscape is less structured as it reaches the existing woods that consist of maple, birch, hickory, and oak. Over the years the following were added to this 6-acre property: the vegetable garden, the woodland paths, the perennial collections, and, in 2022, the pickleball court. My favorite part about the court is the beech hedge in lieu of a fence. I have tried to create many different "rooms" for a wide variety of different experiences in each. All the plants selected in each "room" were chosen for a timed bloom throughout the year.
This garden's estimated size is 6½ acres.
