She fosters connections with local public grade schools, the Duwamish tribe, Pacific Northwest African American Quilters and numerous nonprofit organizations. Carolyn has a BA in English from University of San Francisco, a BA in Journalism from Seattle University, and is currently completing an MA in Nonprofit Leadership from Northeastern University.
Justin Henderson, Garden Director at PowellsWood Garden in Federal Way, WA has devoted his career to serving in the non-profit sector. Justin discovered his love of gardening in 2012 when he was Executive Director of a local food bank. He was asked to create a community garden to provide fresh produce for the food bank. Although he did it begrudgingly, it didn’t take long for him to become radically obsessed. Justin is passionate about inviting others to enjoy beauty, serenity, healing, and fulfillment through horticulture. He is the incoming president for Northwest Horticultural Society.
