Garden of Gregory and Kathleen Greene
Niskayuna, NY
Garden structure/sculpture, Organic/toxin-free, Substantial native plants, Water feature, Woodland/shade garden
Situated on about ⅓ acre, our garden is a mix of formal and informal plantings. As you enter the side garden through a yew hedge, a large bowl made from Vermont marble sits in the middle of a small lawn. On either side of the lawn there are two borders of perennials and shrubs. Stepping down into the back garden, there is a border to your right that combines shrubs, perennials, and tropicals and a large potted Red Abyssinian banana. The rest of the back garden is divided up by hedges and stone walls along with cut flower gardens, another perennial border, and shade gardens. A small greenhouse and potting shed sit in the back corner of the garden. Scattered throughout the property are Stewartia, dogwoods, witch hazels, and other small trees along with areas planted for pollinators.
This garden's estimated size is ⅓ acre.
