Know Before You Go: Plan Your Garden Visits

Get the most out of your Open Days season with the following reminders:

Scheduling—Whenever possible, we have scheduled gardens to be within a reasonable driving distance from one another. Occasionally, we find a garden that simply must be included, despite its being off the beaten path. We do our best to make sure the garden directions provided on tickets are accurate. Always check directions before you head out or bring a map or GPS system along with you during your garden visiting adventures. We send Registration Reminders to all registered participants the Thursday before an Open Day. Be sure to check these emails for any last-minute changes in parking or directions.

Admissions—All registrations are now collected through our e-ticketing system which can be found on our website: gardenconservancy.org/opendays Admission to Open Days gardens is $5 per person for members of the Garden Conservancy, and $10 per person for non-members. Admission is charged per person, per garden. Children aged 12 and under are always free when accompanied by a registered adult. Membership—Membership is not required to attend Open Days gardens, but being a member of the Garden Conservancy offers exceptional value. In addition to receiving 50% off Open Days tickets, members also qualify for discounts to other Conservancy programs. To learn more about membership please see page 379.

Changes and Cancellations—Occasionally, Open Days and other educational programs must be canceled or changed due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation, we will announce the cancellation on the website and notify everyone who has already purchased tickets.

Inclement Weather—Open Days are considered rain or shine events and will take place in all weather conditions unless the Garden Host deems conditions to be unsafe and cancels the Open Day. We will notify all registered participants of a cancellation as soon as we are made aware that the Garden Host must cancel. Once canceled, we do not reschedule Open Days.

Refunds, Credits, and Exchanges—We do not offer refunds or exchanges in the event you are unable to attend a program that you have registered for.

Children are Welcome at Open Days!—We encourage you to bring your kids and grandkids to your Open Days visits and to share your love of gardening with the next generation of gardeners. Children 12 and under are always free at Open Days.
